The Philadelphia Police Department Honor Guard performs military style honors during funeral services for officers killed in the line of duty, as well as for deaths of current and retired officers. The Honor Guard also represents the Police Department at State Police Department ceremonies, parades, memorial services as well as every plaque dedication ceremony for officers killed in the line of duty. The Honor Guard has represented the Philadelphia Police Department at funerals and ceremonies in places as far away as Washington, DC., Baltimore,MD.,and New York City. The officers that serve in the Honor Guard understand the importance of closure for the families of officers killed in the line of duty and are dedicated and honored to perform this last solemn act of respect to the fallen heroes. |
